Bespoke English lessons tailored to your needs. Maybe you haven’t spoken English since school and you need to revise grammar. You can practise your speaking and pronunciation. We can look at presentation language and use persuasive language techniques to help you succeed. We can also look at language for meetings and do a role-play of a meeting. Or perhaps you need to build your confidence when working with colleagues from different cultures, considering the importance of cross-cultural understanding. Lessons can be worked around your schedule.
EFL for Teenagers (English as a Foreign Language)
Most secondary schools don’t offer sufficient practice in speaking English. This is where I can help you, focusing on the topics you need to study or helping prepare for exams. Would you like to speak with a native English speaker who can help you with pronunciation? Perhaps you would even like to study in the UK and you need some help with entrance exams and the transition to living in another country. You may be taking your IELTS exam for entrance to university in the UK. I have taught lots of students from different backgrounds and I hold a DBS certificate (police check). Lessons are arranged with full parental agreement.
GCSE exam preparation
I am experienced at preparing students for the GCSE English Language and Literature exams. As an AQA examiner, she can teach the skills and techniques that lead to success. I have also prepared students for the Literature exam, and I will take the time to work through the set texts, such as MacBeth, An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol, Animal Farm and the Power and Conflict section of the Poetry Anthology. Lessons available in person in the Leeds/Harrogate area.
Bespoke lessons
I am flexible in meeting the individual needs of the student, so please contact me to discuss what you would like to study. I am happy to help with younger children from 8 years old; to share knowledge of British history and culture and help organise holidays and tours to the UK. If you’d like some intensive English in person at home, I will get on a plane and come to you! Get in touch and we can go from there.
